If you have too much humidity the wine can grow mold. They knew that to keep wine tasting the best, it must be stored in a cool, dark and somewhat humid house. Most 750 ml bottles are about 11-12 inches high; the diameters generally are about 3-3.5 inches, so size does matter. It is also nice to back and observe where you came from and what direction you might be headed in when referring to your wine inclination.
